I would like to share my honest feedback regarding our 7-day Sri Lanka tour, especially about the tour guide, Azal.

Unfortunately, throughout the trip, I felt that several activities were either rushed, skipped, or not properly managed. The itinerary included many places and experiences, but in reality, we did not get sufficient time to enjoy some of them.

One of the biggest disappointments was Sigiriya. We were informed beforehand that entering the main attraction would require an additional RM150 payment if we wanted to enter. However, we were only taken to the viewpoint. Since Sigiriya was one of the main highlights of the trip, I personally felt that the experience was not worthwhile.

Another issue was the difference in how requests from different groups were handled. Throughout the trip, it often appeared that the guide gave more priority to one particular group. When some of us wanted to stop for shopping, we were told that there was not enough time or that the stop was not part of the itinerary. Sometimes only 30 minutes or 1 hour was given.

However, when the same particular group wanted to stop to purchase alcohol, suddenly there seemed to be sufficient time for it. There was also one particular person whom I prefer not to name who frequently requested alcohol stops, and it felt like the guide regularly accommodated those requests.

This created a feeling of unfairness among the other participants. Everyone paid for the same tour package, so everyone's needs and reasonable requests should be considered equally. A tour guide should manage the group fairly rather than allowing the preferences of one particular group to influence the entire itinerary.

I am not writing this review to personally attack anyone. I hope the guide and organiser will take this as constructive feedback. Azal should improve his time management, communication, group coordination and, most importantly, fairness towards all tour participants.

Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with many wonderful places to visit, and the itinerary had many good destinations planned, including Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Galle, Bentota and Colombo.  Unfortunately, the way the tour was managed affected our overall experience.

I sincerely hope future groups will receive better organisation, equal treatment and a more enjoyable experience.

Overall, I was disappointed with the way the tour was managed throughout the 7 days.

Several activities mentioned in the itinerary were either skipped or not properly carried out. For example, at Sigiriya, we were previously informed by the organiser that entering the site would require an additional payment of RM150 if we wanted to go in. However, instead of properly explaining the options and giving us sufficient time to enjoy the attraction, the tour guide only brought us to the viewpoint. Considering that Sigiriya was one of the highlighted destinations in the itinerary, this felt disappointing and not worth the experience we expected.

Another major concern was the unequal treatment of different groups throughout the tour. It often felt that the tour guide prioritised the requests and instructions of one particular group of people. When certain members wanted to stop for shopping, we were told that there was not enough time, or only around 30 minutes to 1 hour was provided. However, when the same particular group wanted to stop to purchase alcohol, there seemed to be plenty of time available.

There was also one particular person in the group whom I prefer not to name, who repeatedly requested stops for alcohol throughout the trip. Unfortunately, it felt like the tour guide frequently followed this person's preferences. At the same time, when other members wanted to stop for shopping, the response was that it was not included in the itinerary, and the guide appeared to follow the same group's instructions.

Everyone paid for this tour and nobody came for free. Therefore, I believe every group member should have been treated fairly and given reasonable consideration. A tour guide should remain neutral, manage the entire group professionally, and avoid giving the impression that one particular group has priority over others.

I sincerely hope Tour Guide Azal will take this feedback constructively and improve his communication, time management, group coordination and, most importantly, fairness towards all participants in future tours.

The tour itself had the potential to be a memorable experience, but the way some activities and requests were handled unfortunately affected the overall experience.

Our Sri Lanka holiday was truly an extraordinary experience, and we are so happy that we chose Gratify Tours Agency to arrange our trip. From the very beginning until the end, everything was well organised, smooth and stress-free.
A very special thank you to our amazing guide, Mr. Irfak, who was friendly, patient, caring and extremely professional throughout our journey. I am very disappointed with this tour. It was a very bad experience.
Many places and activities mentioned in the itinerary were skipped because you said there was not enough time. Some places required entrance fees, but this was not mentioned in the itinerary before we paid.
We all paid the same amount, so it is not fair to cancel activities based on the majority’s decision. Those activities were included in the itinerary, and we expected to experience them.
Also, the train was mentioned in the itinerary as part of the tour, but only later we were told that it was a public train, not a tourism train. If it was public transport, this should have been clearly mentioned before we made the payment.
We feel that the itinerary was misleading and that we did not receive the experience we paid for.

Our trip to Sri Lanka 29/08/26-5/9/26 was a memorable retreat.  Firstly we would like thanks to 3 important person who our tour guide  MrAzal ,  Sanjeeva and the driver( sorry i miss out his name from my mind) . Its great we have a good guide Azal- from the moment we arrived until the end of our tour he was professional,
friendly,knowledgeable and patient.
He shared all about Sri Lanka’s history,culture and tradition.Driver tambi seems to be an experienced driver and really took care of our safety throughout the journey and also not mist-Sanjeeva was very good in handling our luggage and care. With out them we unable to experiance the very best of Sri Lanka.
We will certainly recommend our friends to use Gratify Tours for their trips to Sri Lanka.
